Q. What is G.Y.M. Fix?
A. A combination of interactive puzzles and challenges for participants to overcome within a specified amount of time.
Q. Can I sign up as an individual?
A. Of course! Everyone who can help solve our puzzles is welcome to join. The best part, we will team you up with fellow puzzle solvers.
Q. What if I can’t get enough people for a team?
A. The maximum number of sleuths in a session is 10, so you may be grouped with another person or persons. If you would like an exclusive experience you will need to reserve all 10 spaces.
Q. How long is it?
A. We recommend allowing 90 minutes total time for your G.Y.M Fix experience. You are encouraged to show up at least 10 minutes before your scheduled start time. Once you enter the game, you will have 60 minutes to successfully complete your objectives. Once the 60 minutes have elapsed there will be an opportunity to debrief.
Q. Will I be able to solve the puzzles?
A. While all of the puzzles/challenges can be completed with your wits and a little physical coordination, they will vary in degrees of difficulty. The challenge will be to solve the puzzles within the allotted time.
Q. How old do you have to be to play?
A. The challenges have been designed for most ages. Unfortunately they may be a little too difficult for those under the age of 13.
Get Your Mystery Fix
Get Your Mystery Fix started when a bunch of friends wondered if we could put together our own “escape room” type puzzle game. Fundraising for the 2015 renovation of the gymnasium provided a convenient context for our challenge. The inaugural event was enjoyable to put on and so well received by participants, planning for a second event began.
For the second chapter, G.Y.M Fix moved from a multi-group environment in the gym to a single group challenge in the Betsuin’s “Sixth Street building”. Funds raised by G.Y.M Fix continued to benefit the Generations Capital Campaign which funded the gym renovation and the upcoming education building improvements.
Beginning in 2019, G.Y.M Fix proceeds will benefit the physical home of the G.Y.M Fix arena. We will be dedicating the proceeds to improvements to the “Sixth Street Building”. G.Y.M Fix participants will be able to enjoy not only their cherished memories from their experience, but the improvements made possible by their participation.
